GENNESARET FREE CLINICS HONOR VOLUNTEERISM
WITH 2nd ANNUAL HUMANITARIAN AWARD
Public Invited to Nominate Exceptional Volunteers
According to nonprofitlist.org, there are more than180 non-profit organizations serving Hoosiers in Indianapolis today. At the heart of most of these organizations is the unsung and irreplaceable volunteer. Gennesaret Free Clinics today announced the opening of nominations for the 2014 Gennesaret Humanitarian Award. This award recognizes individual volunteer commitment and leadership, making a positive impact on the human condition to those in Central Indiana.
Rebecca Seifert, Executive Director of Gennesaret Free Clinics explains, “As a non-profit, we rely on over 200 committed volunteers to deliver healthcare services to the homeless. Those that we serve also rely on other non-profits in the city and their volunteers. In so many ways, we are all connected in serving the needs of others. Recognizing this, Gennesaret wanted to honor outstanding volunteers from other organizations whose work aligns with a common humanitarian mission.”
The public is invited to submit nominees for consideration by January 24, 2014. Those interested in submitting a nominee can do so by visiting www.Gennesaret.org. Nominees should exemplify humanitarian ideals and attributes by:
* Contributing significantly to improve the quality of life of individuals in central Indiana.
* Demonstrating significant leadership and outstanding humanitarian volunteer accomplishments
* Serving as an inspiration to colleagues, volunteers and those served
* Showing through the work undertaken, a commitment to humanity and selflessness, without regard to direct personal or organizational gain or profit.
A panel of independent judges from the Indianapolis Non-profit community will complete selection of the winner by March 30, 2014. The Recipient will be honored at the GFC Art for Beds event on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Conrad, Indianapolis.
